Hen party at Tonstudio Leipzig, microphone, group photo and CD cover made on the spot

Hen party.
Hen party recordings at Tonstudio Leipzig.

You are looking for a hen party that is more personal than a karaoke bar and a prosecco brunch. At Tonstudio Leipzig your crew records a wedding gift song together, a hit with rewritten lyrics or a message you wrote yourselves. A group photo for the CD case is taken right here. A gift you cannot buy in a shop.

A hen party that delivers the goosebump moment at the wedding.

A karaoke bar, a cocktail workshop, a scavenger hunt through the city centre, all great hen party classics, but they share the same problem: the next day the pictures are in a WhatsApp status, a week later they are forgotten. A hen party at a recording studio works differently. Together you produce a gift that really gets to the couple at the wedding. One that does not disappear into a drawer. One that gets brought out again at the next family gathering.

What happens here follows your crew. You choose a favourite song of the couple, rewrite the lyrics around your shared history with the bride or groom, or you come up with something on the spot. Some crews arrive with finished lyrics, some need a glass of prosecco to warm up first. Both are fine. I guide you calmly, give tips on your voices and keep the studio atmosphere relaxed. Nobody has to sing professionally. It is about courage, fits of laughter and the good feeling of having made something together that is one of a kind.

Right after the recording we take a group photo in the studio for the CD cover, and the crew decides together on the layout, the crop and the type. At the end you take a finished CD home, the one the couple unwraps at the wedding as the most emotional gift of the day. One you cannot buy in a shop. And while the other guests bring wine and bowls of salad, you turn up with a goosebump moment on CD.

What you do

What bridesmaid crews most often come to the studio with.

A hen party at the studio follows your crew. Here you can see the ideas groups usually come to me with.

A gift song

A wedding gift for the couple

A song you wrote yourselves or one with rewritten lyrics that tells your story with the bride or groom: inside jokes, shared moments, a text that is affectionate and cheeky. Played at the wedding or handed over as a CD, it is the most emotional gift of the evening.

Rewriting a cover

A favourite song with inside lyrics

You take the couple's favourite hit and rewrite the words around your shared history. The melody stays familiar, the content is one hundred per cent personal. It works with almost any pop song, chart hit or classic.

A karaoke version

A karaoke track as the main idea

You sing a well known hit over a professional karaoke version, with no original vocals, just the instrumental. I can optimise the track for the group and layer several takes on top of each other for a full choir sound.

An audio message

A personal message for the couple

A spoken or sung audio message for the bride or groom, which can be played as a surprise at the wedding. It also works perfectly as a solo contribution from the maid of honour or the closest friend.

Your own idea

Deciding on the spot

Some crews arrive with a finished concept, others need the studio atmosphere first to sort their ideas out. Both are fine. I help with the song choice on the day, suggest suitable karaoke versions and find something that matches the mood of the group.

The CD cover, live

A group photo and CD cover made on the spot

Right after the recording we take a professional group photo in the studio. The crew decides together which photo goes on the cover, how it is arranged, which typeface and which colours. A proper professional print as a wedding gift.

Packages

Two package sizes to suit the size of your crew.

The online shop has two set packages plus optional extras. If everything fits, you book your preferred date directly in the availability calendar. For special requests, send me an enquiry so that I can look at the right process briefly.

120 minutes

9 to 13 people

The large crew, for when the whole extended circle of friends or the family is there. More time for coordination, several takes per person and a more detailed cover design. With breaks and a prosecco break on the balcony in between.

A CD with a group photo cover

The recording becomes a real CD with an individually designed cover, with one to four songs possible. A wedding gift you can hold and hand over. Printed professionally on the case and on the CD.

Photo and video keepsakes

Ten to twenty photos from the studio or a video recording of the finished song. Both extras are only done after agreeing it with your crew.

A voucher as a present

A lovely gift idea for bridesmaids, best men or as a surprise for the crew: adding a personalised voucher for a hen party studio session.

CD cover workshop

The crew designs its CD cover together.

A CD recording as a wedding gift is nice. A CD whose cover the crew designed themselves is unforgettable. After the recording, your hen party turns into a real piece of work by the crew, and you decide everything together.

A group photo in the studio

Right after the recording we take a nice group photo, in front of the microphone, wearing headphones, with the bride or groom to be in the middle. The crew decides on the pose and the mood: glamorous, funny with silly faces or elegant and celebratory.

Choosing the image and the layout together

The crew decides which photo goes on the cover, how it is arranged, where the song title and the couple's name sit and in which typeface. You choose the colours, the crop and the position, all of it together.

A CD with your own cover as a wedding gift

The finished cover is printed on the CD and on the case, no photocopy look, but a proper professional print. Your crew takes home a piece of work that really comes from you. A wedding gift with a guaranteed goosebump factor.

The CD cover experience is an optional extra, bookable in the online shop, with between one and four songs to choose from. If you simply want the recording as a download, you get that too, of course.

What you take home

More than just a CD, a hen party that really brings you together.

A hen party at a recording studio is not just entertainment. Something happens to your crew on that day, small, quiet, important things that turn an evening into more than just another thing you ticked off.

01 The first moment

The first time in a real studio atmosphere

For most of your crew it is the very first time in a real recording studio. A professional microphone, headphones, that moment when you hear yourselves at full volume in the headphones, nobody forgets it. “Wow, so that is what we sound like!” crews often say, wide eyed.

02 Courage as a group

Standing at the microphone together

Singing in front of other people is always a small hurdle, but when the crew stands at the microphone together, nobody feels exposed on their own. Anyone who has managed it carries that confidence on, into the wedding speech or the performance at the pre-wedding party.

03 Fits of laughter

Guaranteed laughs when you listen back

When you listen to the recording together after the first take, fits of laughter are guaranteed. Missed notes, wrong words, squeaks, that is exactly what makes the recording real and unforgettable. You hear those laughs on the CD later and they are what make the gift personal.

04 A crew feeling

Creating something together that connects you

The shared experience brings the crew together. When you put the CD on again at a reunion in five years, the atmosphere of that hen party day is instantly back. Anchors like that are rare. Most hen party memories have faded after six months.

05 Happiness for the couple

The most emotional moment at the wedding

When the couple unwraps the CD at the wedding and hears for the first time what the crew recorded, it is regularly the most emotional moment of the evening. Tears, laughter, “when on earth did you record that?” A guaranteed goosebump moment.

06 A memory that stays

A CD that does not disappear

While wedding gifts like dinner sets, salad bowls or cases of wine end up in the cellar, a CD with a photo of the crew stays in the living room. It gets put on again at family gatherings. It is still admired in ten years. That is what a gift looks like when it really stays.

Preparation

How to plan the studio hen party for your crew properly.

A little preparation makes the day more relaxed and the studio experience better. Here are the most important points for your planning as maid of honour or as whoever is organising the hen party.

1
The date

Book early

Weekend slots at the studio are popular, especially in the afternoon and on Saturdays. Look at the availability calendar in the online shop early and reserve your preferred date. Four to six weeks ahead is ideal, especially with larger crews and a lot of diaries to match up.

2
Choosing the song

Agreeing the idea within the crew

Collect ideas within the crew beforehand: which song is “the couple's song”? Is there an inside hit? Should it be funny or emotional? A quick vote in the WhatsApp group is enough. If the crew has not decided yet, we sort it out on the day.

3
The text

Write rewritten lyrics beforehand

If you want to rewrite a hit, write the words beforehand with two or three of you. Inside stories, nicknames, funny anecdotes, that is what makes the text unique. Send me the finished lyrics at least three days in advance, then I can match the karaoke version to them perfectly.

4
Getting here

Together and on time

Plan the journey together with the crew. The studio is centrally located in the south of Leipzig, two minutes from the S-Bahn. Being on time matters: five minutes beforehand is plenty. If you are arriving as part of a hen party programme, it is worth planning the karaoke bars for afterwards straight away.

5
The atmosphere

Your own drinks, a relaxed mood

A glass of prosecco to warm up is almost obligatory at a hen party, so bring your own drinks. I provide water. Comfortable clothes or hen party shirts with your crew motto look great in the studio photos. The mood can be lively, just not so drunk that nobody can sing cleanly any more.

6
Afterwards

Carrying on after the studio

There are karaoke bars, cocktail bars and restaurants just around the corner. The city centre is two minutes away by S-Bahn. Many crews plan the studio session as the highlight of the hen party programme, drinks beforehand, a karaoke bar afterwards, a cocktail bar in the evening. In practice that works very well.

How a session runs

How the studio hen party works actually goes.

So that you know exactly what happens on the day, here are the four stages of every studio hen party.

01

Choose a package in the online shop

You go to the online shop, choose the package size (90 or 120 minutes), the size of your crew and any extras (CD, photos, video, voucher), look at the availability calendar for free slots and book directly. For the standard packages no enquiry beforehand is needed.

02

Getting to know the studio, settling the song choice

At the session I welcome the crew, show you the studio, settle the final song choice if it is still open and explain the setup. A short microphone test loosens everyone up, and you all hear yourselves in the headphones for the first time.

03

Singing, laughing, several takes

Up to three crew members at the microphone at the same time, everyone else can be recorded one after another or layered on top of each other as a choir. Everyone gets their turn at their own pace. The fun and the crew feeling come first.

04

Taking the group photo and designing the CD cover

At the end you listen to the recording together with the crew. I give it the right studio polish so that everything sounds rounded. Then the group photo and designing the cover together. Delivered as a download link, and on request as a CD with an individual cover plus photo and video keepsakes.

Getting here

Hen parties for Leipzig, Halle, Berlin and central Germany.

My studio is centrally located in the south of Leipzig, well connected to the S-Bahn, the tram and the main roads. Here you can see how crews from different regions reach me.

Location

The studio in the south of Leipzig

Bernhard-Göring-Straße 17, two minutes from Bayerischer Bahnhof. Reachable by tram, S-Bahn and car, with parking nearby, which matters when the crew arrives in several cars.

Right next door

The city centre & karaoke bars within walking distance

Karaoke bars, cocktail bars and restaurants are within walking distance or two minutes away by S-Bahn. That is ideal if you want to carry on celebrating straight after the studio session. The city centre and the market square are directly reachable by S-Bahn.

35 min

From Halle (Saale) to the hen party

Halle is 35 minutes away by S-Bahn. Many crews from Halle combine the studio session with a day out in Leipzig: the studio, the city centre, karaoke bars, a cocktail lounge.

1 to 1.5 h

Berlin, Dresden, Erfurt, Magdeburg

Leipzig is 1 to 1.5 hours from Berlin, Dresden, Erfurt or Magdeburg. Many bridesmaid crews from Berlin make a hen party weekend of Leipzig, with the studio plus an overnight stay plus karaoke.

under 2 h

Saxony, Thuringia, Brandenburg

From Chemnitz, Zwickau, Jena, Weimar, Cottbus or Potsdam, Leipzig is under two hours away. Crews from three different states regularly combine the studio hen party with a night in the city centre.

A tip

If you are coming from further away

Crews from Munich, Cologne, Hamburg or Frankfurt often make a weekend of Leipzig: the studio hen party on Saturday lunchtime, a night in the city centre, breakfast on Sunday. There are hotels five minutes away on foot, and I am happy to recommend some.
