A phone video is fine for the moment, a proper cover song is made to last.
Recordings on a phone or with karaoke apps are fine for the moment. When the song is meant to last, for a wedding, a birthday, an anniversary or a memorial, it needs real studio conditions: a good microphone, a clean mix, proper mastering and personal guidance.
At Tonstudio Leipzig there are three cover versions: a vocal cover on the isolated original backing, a new interpretation with your own arrangement, or a modified version with changed lyrics. All three versions and the prices are further down the page.
One thing matters especially: you do not have to be able to sing professionally. Most clients are in a studio for the first time. You get personal guidance, plenty of attempts without pressure, and pitch correction (Melodyne) cleans up small inaccuracies. The fastest route: vocal isolation removes the original vocals from your favourite song, and you sing live over the remaining instrumental. Works especially well with modern pop songs. About two to three studio hours, from 150 euros. Name the song when you get in touch so the isolation can be checked beforehand.
Version 2, new interpretation
Your favourite song rebuilt musically from the ground up
The most creative version: pop becomes acoustic or rock becomes a piano ballad, with your own key and tempo. My experience as a pianist counts especially here. A paid first consultation in the studio is recommended, so the arrangement can be developed together.
Version 3, modified version
An existing song with personalised lyrics
The song keeps its music, but the words are rewritten for the person, the couple or the occasion. Songwriting support is available if you need help. A paid first consultation in the studio is recommended, because changing lyrics needs careful planning.

The amount is a final price; under Section 19 of the German VAT Act no value added tax is charged. If you do not have an instrumental, I will find one for 20 euros and prepare it for the recording. A new interpretation or a change of lyrics is calculated after the first consultation, because that is where arrangement and effort are settled.
