A hard drive failure, a change of software, a lost backup: there are many reasons why the original files of an old song of your own can no longer be found. Often all that is left is the finished mix, for example as an MP3 or from an old CD.
I technically extract vocals and instruments from this finished mix again, using AI-assisted source separation. Afterwards I listen to each track individually and clean up audible residue and artifacts by hand, instead of just delivering the raw, unedited result.
That way you get individual tracks from your own song back, for example as a basis for a new remix or a karaoke and instrumental version.
